CALIFORNIA DIARIES
There’s a lot to see and do in California. It’s physically impossible to explore all the places I’ve got my eye on. Today I’m sharing my favorite locations I visited on this trip.
Check out part 2 of my California vlog here: https://youtu.be/yyiAcnRnlrw
Starting with a no-brainer! Venice beach was so surreal. In LA, I saw a lot of beautiful locations that I wanted to document, but there was something special about Venice Beach. Venice Beach has a culture of its own! There’s food, music and lots of people walking on the boardwalk. Different walks of life literally meet on the beach. The sunset requires absolutely no filtering! Just off in the distance you can see the Santa Monica Pier lighting up when the sun goes down. We took the opportunity to walk the distance from Venice Beach to Santa Monica and had dinner at a beautiful restaurant named Terrazza.
Next up we have Malibu. For some reason Miley Cyrus’s song was stuck in my head the entire time we were here. If I could match a song to a vibe, that would be my number one pick. Malibu feels calming, part of the reason being that most things are footsteps away from the beach. We visited Malibu Country Mart late in the afternoon. It was a different pace coming from West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. I definitely think I’m a sucker for a good beach town. We then decided to try out Nobu Malibu, not just for the food but also the beautiful view. It’s a complete indoor outdoor experience. The waves are roaring, the music is pumping, and everybody seems to be having a great time.
Lastly we have the Getty museum. This location was bittersweet because when we arrived there was a private event. Unfortunately we weren’t able to go inside and see the extent of the location, but the outside was just as beautiful.
Once again, California is enormous, and it’s impossible to see all the beautiful locations. On my next trip out there, I definitely plan on going to Long Beach, San Diego, and Palm Springs. Until next time…
